Land Rover Repair: Stuck drivers side door LR discovery, landrover discovery, wd40

Question
Hi,
I have a 96 landrover discovery with a driver's side front door that won't open from the outside.  It open's fine from the inside.

In the past I've used grease WD40 on the hinge and mechanisms but after extreme colds or lots for rain it sticks to the point of not being able to open.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks!
Lisa

Answer
The rod between the outside handle, or the handle itself, has probably broken inside.  Take the door panel apart and you should be able to see.

The rod may also be stretched too far to release the latch, in which case you can repair the situation by adjusting and no parts will be needed.
