Land Rover Repair: belt tensioner, land rover discovery, relative thing

Is it hard to replace the belt tensioner?  The local auto shop (not dealer wants 350.00) to do it.  1996 Land Rover Discovery.

Hard is a relative thing . . it depends upon your skill.  You'll need a tool to get the fan loose, and you'll need basic mechanical skills and about an hour.  Maybe more if you have to figure it out.

Rememebr, if you get partway and can't finish you'll be towing it to a shop because you can't drive it without a belt.
