Land Rover Repair: stop solenoid, fuel injection pump, haynes manual

Question
I've got a 97 300Tdi with a faulty stop solenoid. After consulting my Haynes manual and looking at a quick fix I've realised that my fuel injection pump is somewhat different to the one in the manual. Where the solenoid should be there is a black plastic box with 3 wires going in to it. This doesn't seem to be a loose cover or something similar, is my pump different and is there a way to get to the solenoid to remove the plunger whilst I'm waiting for a new part?

Answer
The Haynes manual describes the older system.  Go to www.landrovertechinfo.com and purchase a day's access for your vehicle.  They have the information on the pump - you can print it so it's always there.  That web site is called GTR - Land Rover's offical repair data site.
