Hi John, I saw your post about how you were able to purchase a replacement sideview mirror for your land rover discovery, I happen to need one for my discovery, I was wondering where you purchased it? I just need the actually mirror itself, not the whole base and all. Thanks,

Hi Darrell,

perform a search at www.car-part.com for the door mirror assembly nearest you.  I've seen them as low as $35 and as high as $100 for the entire electric door mirror unit.  For this price you not only get the mirror you want but also a backup motor and mirror assembly too!

You'll have to remove the mirror yourself but its easy to do if you take your time with it.  The mirror has threaded posts that the motor pulls on when moved. I moved the mirror to the extreme inside to expose the internals and then GENTLY popped out the miror itself.

You'll have to do the same with the broken (?) mirror on your Disco before you install the replacement.  Consider this as the practice run - and you don't have to worry about breaking something that's already broke!
