Land Rover Repair: Freelander TD4 Starting Problems, sporting goods stores, fuel feed

Question
I have an X reg Freelander TD4 that starts 1st time everytime when cold or when started again within 20 mins of turning it off. However, if left for more than 20 mins it refuses to start until left for at least 2 hours or more. It does try to start and gives a small rev but then just turns over on the starter. Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem. It's costing me a fortune as my wife now has the ideal excuse to keep shopping :-}

Answer
Hi Brad,

At first, I thought this sounds like a fuel feed problem but the more I think about it perhaps it's a temperature sensor failure.  It's the 2hour wait time that is double disturbing...why so long?  Is it heat related or electrical?

Have you ran any diagnostics yet?

BTW: park near hardware, auto parts or sporting goods stores.  Time well wasted.
