Land Rover Repair: power window stop, haynes manual, spot welds

Question
I have a 96 discovery. The driver window went all the way down and wouldnt come back up.I took it apart and found the gear part of the regulator had broken off at the spot welds.I drilled and tapped the gear and reattached it in the same spot, but now when the window goes down(automaticaly) it doesnt stop it just goes until it runs out of gear and the motor keeps on running.Im trying to figue out what is supposed to stop the window when it is at the bottom when it is automaticaly  going down.

thanks alot.

Answer
Hi Dean,

I believe its the regulator that does this.  LR tech sheet is not very descriptive but the Haynes manual is much better.  B&W photos help.

Do you have a Haynes repair manual #3016? Well worth the price.

It has to be a question of placement on the regulator.  I did not see and specialized stopper of any sort when I check my docs.

You can also try www.discoweb.org and look in both the TECH and FORUM sections.

Best of luck,
