Land Rover Repair: Service Engine Soon at 50K miles, discoweb org, testbook

Question
2001 Range Rover 4.6 HSE, Service Engine Soon came on at almost exactly 50k miles.  Seems too much of a coincidence.  Car drives fine.  Could this be the same as old 82500 emissions warning?  I've got a ? into Actron to see if their pocketscan device can perform the reset.

Thanks,
Andy

Answer
Hi Andy,

yes...thats an emissions reminder and it can be reset using either a LR testbook or an Autologic reader.  You can either have the dealer do it for a gizillion dollars OR you can visit your local auto parts guy and see if they'll do it ... for free!  Most have the ability to read OBDII codes and some will even reset the emissions warning light.

There is also another way to reset the light:

http://www.discoweb.org/

goto TECH section and look for Reset Service Engine light.

Best of luck,
