Land Rover Repair: No tailights / interior lights, dashboard lights, corrosion problem

Question
Followup:

Should the headlights be on (very weak illumination) when the light switch is in the the parking lights position . All lights work fine , however not in the "headlights on" switch position.
Might be dealer diagnosis problem? Is there a relay , somewhere I might check ?

Question -
97 Disco - when I turn light switch to 1st position - parking lights + Dashboard lights work
and the head lights are on very dim. When I move the switch to 2nd position for headlights , I get strong headlights, but no tailights or dashboard lights? Must be a short cicuit , but where? or maybe the switch?
Answer -
Hi Patrick,

check all the exterior lights for failure.  Also check the bulbholders of these lights.  I have had a rear bumper break light fail due to corrosion within the bulbholder.  When this light went, I no longer had dashboard lights.  Another time, I lost a sidemarker light - again due to the bulbholder corrosion problem.

Best of luck,

Answer
Hi Patrick,

its possible if you have a NAS Disco.  Perhaps you are having trouble with the Daytime Running Light relay.

Its possible that the switch is faulty.  At this point, you may be wiser to have a LandRover technician find the fault.  Swapping out parts to find an problem is best left to the dealer.  Hopefully, they only charge you for the parts they replace and not all the parts they use in trying to find the problem.  I've had this happen to me.

Best of luck,
