Land Rover Repair: replacing brake lights for disco series II, warranty coverage, warranty service

Question
i own a 2002 disco series II and i was informed by a friend that was driving behind me that my window brake light is not working and the brake light on the driver's side.  is this something i can do easily? perhaps changing the bulbs?  do you know if this is covered under my warranty. i'm still w/in my warranty coverage?

any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Answer
Hi Ada Loo,

Usually, bulbs are not covered unless a larger problem has caused the bulbs to prematurely fail. Normal wear on a 3 year old Disco....that's a good question.

The bumper bulb is easy to replace - go behind bumper and push turn the bulbholder.  Entire holder removes from light housing.  Bulb is a push turn insert and remove.

Rear light "third eye" mounted on rear window is usually replaced by removing the housing from the window (two screws removed) and then bulb is a push turn insert/remove.

Make sure this is all that is wrong.  If you change the bulbs and the lights still don't work, or them blow again, I'd take it to the dealer for warranty service.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
