Land Rover Repair: Freelander Rear Knocking Noise, nuts and bolts, diff mounts

Question
I have a 2001 td4 es freelander with a rear knocking noise when braking / pulling off / cornering and general low speed movemnets.

I have challanged the common faults by changing all 3 rear diff mounts and both rear tie bar front brushes bit IT STILL MAKES THE MOST ANNOYING KNOCKING NOISE!

Do you have any ideas as myself and 3 other garages are totally stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Craig

Answer
Hi Craig,

could it be suspension related?  What about the trailing link to the rear hub?  I read somewhere that with your Freelander, all nuts and bolts have to tightend with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension. Inspect transverse link too!

Best of luck,
