Land Rover Repair: 97 disco trans oil cooler, salvage yard, fluid leak

Question
I found a major trans fluid leak recently and brought it to the shop.  Mech stated I needed new trans oil cooler and lines for a tune of $1500 (which I am not in the position to handle at this moment).  So, I took vehicle back, looked around myself and found damage to the oil cooler (crushed and ruptured coils) as the cause of the leak.  I found a used oil cooler from a 97 disco at a salvage yard for $50 and am considering doing the work myself but need directions.  Any suggestions, hints or pitfalls you can point out in doing this repair myself would be GREATLY appreciated!  Also, how much trans fluid does the system hold?

Grateful in Disco-Land
