Land Rover Repair: ABS sensors, shuttle valve, testbook

Question
I wrote a couple of months ago about the Three amigos.  Well I am still battling with this problem. I have taken my LR Discovery 2000 automatic diesel many times to the dealer and they have changed the ABS sensors twice.  When I am driving very slow in a traffic jam, the ABS all of a sudden activates and then the three amigos appear (HDC, ABS and TC).  It is frustrating. What else could it be. The mechanic tells me that it is not the main computer. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Adam,

many owners have this problem.  I've been hearing that the problem may be with a sticking shuttle valve within the ABS unit.  Have your dealer consider this.  Some dealers can repair it while others opt for the easier buck and swap in a new modulator.

I think its just a question of bleeding the modulator and only the dealer can do this.  I also think the testbook is required. At least in the UK, they are considering the shuttle valve as the root of the cause.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
