John-  Need your help again.  How to I get to the lights to replace a bulb in the auto-shifter?
Also, any suggestions to increase mileage on our Disco?

Hi Deb,

hope all is well with your Disco.

Here are the instructions for the automatic shifter bulb replacement:

AUTOMATIC GEAR SELECTOR-PANEL BULB

Service repair no - 86.45.40
1. Disconnect battery negative lead.
2. Carefully prise quadrant finisher out of surround. (It sort of looks like the top 'cap' covering the shifter area.)
3. Carefully prise rear of surround away from centre console. (This is the important area and requires some care.)
4. Pull appropriate bulb holder from fitted position.
5. Remove bulb from holder.

Refit
6. Reverse removal procedure

Seems easy enough.  Take your time and don't pry from just one corner - try to pry (prise) evenly around all the edging of both the finishing 'cap' and the console cover.
