thanks for the response John--my ACE warning still remains luminated, so assuming it is a sensor fault, unless it changes to red, I'm "safe"??

Also, what were your thoughts on the heater blowing cool air at idle, even with a hot engine?  And it only does this sometimes...something sticking?

Answer
Hi Cole,

If your ACE sensor light has been triggered you should have that system examined.  You could try resetting your system by disconnecting the negative cable on your battery.  This will erase any faults that have been triggered and allow you to start over.  Once you attach the neg. cable you'll have to reset your clock and security code for your sound system.

As sooon as you start up your Disco and start moving, if a fault exists it will trigger the light and store the fault code.  If it was false reading no code will be set and no light will be triggered.  If it does trigger, take your Disco to the dealer for service.

As for your heater blower blasting cold air, this could be the signs of a blockage (air or ?) in your coolant lines.  It could also be a sign of your heater core becoming faulty.  The fan works independently of this.  I would say flush the entire coolant and see it if cleans up the problem.  Worse case is that you'll have to remove the heater core and have it serviced.  It could also be the heat switch has an electrical fault and is starting to fail.  Again, LR would be able to find this and fix faster than a general mechanic.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
