Land Rover Repair: diesel conversion, isuzu engines, chevy v6

I happen to own two Discos, a 1999 the US the other  a 1994 is in Haiti. The 94 Disco in Haiti have some valve problems, very loud, i think the engine is about to go. I am looking for a diesel replacement for my current gasoline. Does anyone know what might fit and where i can locate it. I know that used to send the with a Diesel engine.

I've heard of Datsun diesel engines being swapped into older Disco's.  Japanese engines have been coupled as well.  

Isuzu engines have been installed by an Australian company named Perentie.  That's about all I know.

Most diesel installs have to deal with the Disco's gearbox.  The LT95 is hardest to mate with.
