Land Rover Repair: Flashers not working, dashboard lights, marker light

Question
Help!-I'm back with a new problem. The flashers on my '97 Discovery just stopped working  both the turn signals & the hazard too.
I've tried to fix it by changing the fuses but firstly the fuse didn't seem broken but regardless even when i changed it with the spare in the box there was no change.
I'm dreading to take it to the landrover specialist Mech tommorrow coz $$$-yeah! but is this a minor issue self fixable or local Auto shop at least?
Thanks for your help-your the best.

Answer
Hello Wai,

check all your lights.  I have found that when a side marker light is no longer working, it is possible that your flashers don't work.  If a brake light is burnt out, you could have no turn signal light.  If a turn signal light bulb is burnt out, you could loose your dashboard lights...its really strange.  It is also possible that a light bulb socket is shorting out.  Test each light to see which one is working and which one is not.  IF bulb replacement does not work, you could have a fuse problem, a socket problem or a grounding problem.

As for non-LR mechanics working on LR electronic problems...unless they are fully experienced with LUCAS electronics, I'd advise you to pay the extra dollars and have the problem fixed by LR.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
