Land Rover Repair: LAND ROVER OBD PORT, obd reader, auto parts stores

SEEMS LIKE A STUPID QUESTION, BUT WHERE THE H%$$ IS THE OBD PORT IN MY 96 DISCO.  i WANT TO PURCHASE ONE TO DIAGNOSE  FAULT LIGHTS. DEALER IS FAR AWAY. DONT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AT LOCAL EURO SHOP. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR A WHILE AND ABS LIGHT (PROBABLY DUE TO ROTORS) HAS JUST STARED ILLUMINATING. THANKS

Hi Vince,

the OBDII data link connector should in LH side facia.


Most auto parts stores have OBDII readers.  In my '95 Disco, under the passenger seat, I have a OBD readout that shows the code that has been trapped.  

Turn ignitin key to postion just before engine should start...look under passenger seat for small box with wire attached.  You should be able to move this box a bit to read the code.  The ECU is also located there.  Don't force anything...in case the OBD reader was disconnected
