Land Rover Repair: check engine light code p1884, high speed serial interface, discoweb org

Question
hello, i've had a check engine light on for quite some time now and it keeps coming up with code p1884 which says that the MAF circuit is low.. I've tried replacing the MAF with one from a wrecked discovery of the same model year, but that did not work either. I cleaned the contact points on the wires at the MAF and that did not work either..  Im stumped as to what to do next!
i would appreciate any help on this before i have to take it into the $tealer

Answer
Hi Robert,

I thought MAF codes were much lower P0100 to P0103?  I took a look at www.discoweb.org and searched for your code:

P1884 (Landrover): CAN message WFPDK (DKI) invalid (FFh).

Most OEMS have P1000+ codes are OEM specific.  I've seen some P1884 codes refer to the TTC (transmission transfer case).

I trust discoweb's code definition.  From what I understand, the controller area network (CAN), a high speed serial interface for transmitting information between ECU's, has detected an invalid fault code.  What WFPDK is I do not know.

Go to the following webpage:  http://www.disco2.com/tech/trans/autocodes.phtml

take a look at the p1884(testbook) codes that are provided to see if it gives you some help.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
