Land Rover Repair: ABS Traction control Hill decend, abs components, traction control

Question
Hell I just bought a 99 Land Rover Disco II with 80000 miles. Driving home from dealership (not land rover) the hill decend,tc,abs lights came on the brake pedal started to pulsate. Turned the ignition off then started the rover lights went out if I hit a real hard bump they will come back on checked all fused all good also checked brake fluid that was good. I know that the shocks really need to be replaced I have those ready to install. What do you think I need thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Chris,

unfortunately, this is a known problem with Series II Disco's.  UK version had a recall but no such recall was done in Canada or US.  I would go back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.  Due to the complexity of the problem, only a LR dealership can fix this.  It could cost between $2000 and $4000, depending on the competency and honesty of your local dealership.

You could argue that this is a serious problem within the braking system and that they may have knowningly sold this problem to you.  Lean on your local "lemon laws", if your state/province has any.  You should have at least 30 days!

The problem could be withing the ABS system, the ECU that controls the various HDC, ACE and ABS components.  The shocks have nothing to do with this problem.

If you have any other questions, send a follow-up and I'll do my best to help,
