Land Rover Repair: Suspension, air shock, system resets

Question
John,

My 99, Disco II has been having suspension problems. The disco
has the rear air suspension leveling system on it and when ever
parked the back left rear side drops heavily covering a small
portion of the tire.  To fix it all i do is push the leveling button
on the dash and it resets itself and will hold for some time.  I've
noticed it happening more and more now though only when i
leave it parked.

Is this a compressor problem? does Walt still have a compressor
I can take off his hands if this happens to be the problem?
Anything will help?

Answer
Hi Clay,

You mentioned that after you select the leveling button, the suspension system resets itself and will "hold for some time".  This may indicate a air shock problem on the rear left side.  Your compressor is able to reset but eventually, the air leak on the rear left comes back.

I'd verify that your air suspension is sound before changing your compressor.  If you have a leak and continuously have to reset and rebuild using the compressor, you'll eventually cause compressor problems. $$Cha-ching!

Have a LR service department check this out first before any further steps.

Best of luck,
