Land Rover Repair: 02 Disco2 Daytime Running Lights, daytime running lights, blown fuse

Question
Just purchased "Audrey" and the daytime running lights don't appear to be working.  Is there an easy way to find out if my baby had that as a option?  Maybe a relay or duse I can locate.  I'd really like them to work or find a way to enable them.

Answer
Hi William,

if you live in N.America, DRL's are required and you should return from where you purchased the Disco and have them repair this.  Most states and provinces require that car sales must conform to local laws.

All NAS Disco's will have DRL's activated.

There is a DLR relay up under the dash on the driver's side footwell.  Very rare that the relay fails.  Sometimes the cause is one of the headlight bulb has lost the low beam (daytime) capability.  The low beam (daytime) bulb runs at about 10% less then the night light.

Have the dealer you bought the Disco from do this 'search and rescue'.  If it's a LR dealer, they'll know exactly where to go.  Otherwise, it could be labour intensive to locate the shorted wire, blown fuse or relay.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
