Hi Bill,

no, I don't think you'll need to remove the cupholder.  It may be easier to remove the dummy switches but according to Haynes its not necessary.  Besides, that cupholder is a real pain in the @@@ to remove and replace.  Avoid it if you can.

Best of luck,

Hello Bill,

clock replacement is easy.  Here's the Haynes Manual description:

using a suitable screwdriver, carefully prise the facia switch (dummy switch) panel assemble out from the center panel, taking great care not to mark either (scratchs).

disconnect the wiring connectors (where necessary) and remove the panel.

reach behind the clock, release its lower retaining clips, then push the clock assembly out from the facia.

disconnect the wiring connectors (remember where they connect to) and remove the clock from the vehicle.

Refitting clock:

reconnect the wiring connector, then slide the clock back into position ino the facia.

reconnect the wiring connectors (where applicable), then (insert) the (dummy)switch panel back into place.

end

SO...remove the switch panel below clock; reach up and under the clock; look for the retaining clips on the bottom of clock; release clips and slide out clock; remove connectors; replace clock (reversal of removal).

seems easy... just be careful when you are using the flathead screwdriver.

Best of luck,
