Land Rover Repair: I have a 2001 freelander td4..., freelander td4, fuel gauge

Question
I have a 2001 freelander td4 and i think i have an intermitent problem because sometimes wen i acelerate it seems that the car is a bit slow and with less power than usual.I have change 2 maf sensors but after 1 or 2 weeks the problem apears again.
Sometimes it works fine for a week.
Land Rover sais there is no problem whith the car but thats not true.
Wen the car is working fine i can ear the turbo from 1600rpm to 3000rpm and wen its not working fine after 2000rpm a cant ear it anymore.
At cold in the morning it works better.

Any sugestion?

Sorry for my Inglish, because im from Portugal

Thank you.

Oi proprietário de LandRover de companheiro!

Meu português não é muito bom e seu inglês é melhor que meu português. Então...

Eis minhas sugestões:

Examine the air intake pipe from air box to turbo. Sometimes it can be contaminated with oil and soften the rubber.  It then can collapse and strangle air to the turbo.

Também,

Change your fuel filter.

Also, some FreeLander owners have complained about faulty fuel gauge sender units.  Gauge sends data indicating low or no fuel remaining.

Possa ser,

The pressure sensor between the turbo and the inter cooler could be faulty. Have it disconected see if the motor runs better.  This sensor has default values that it uses to compensate for the entire loss of the sensor readings.

Also,

some owners have complained about water in the fuel tank.  When they accelerate, the water infiltrates the filter then your power is lost.  Have dealer measure water content of fuel tank.  There is a paste that is water sensitive and will not wash off in your fuel.  Smear the paste on a probe and dip it into the tank.  IF water is found, the paste will turn a different colour.  IF water is found you will have to have it drained.

Ultimamente,

Make sure you get as much work done as possible while your Freelander is still under warranty.  Once your warranty expires, the service repairs will become huge.

A boa sorte (Best of luck),
