Lexus Repair: Transmission Jerking, lexus gs300, throttlebody

Question
Hello. I have a 96 Lexus GS300. When slightly stepping on the gas pedal (on drive) the transmission jerk. It also makes this jerking noise when the car comes to almost complete stop. It only happens in stop and go (e.g bumper to bumper traffic) But when I step on the gas pedal at normal speed...car shift smoothly. I did the process of elimation such as checking the transmission and differential fluids, checked trans mount and engine mount... and they all checked out fine. My suspicion is that my TPS is probably off. But would that give me a check engine light if TPS is off or broken? if it is the TPS, what's the easiest way to adjust it? would that cause the jerking? if it is not the TPS, I'm hoping it's not the transmission going out, what else could it be?

Answer
Really check / replace the engine mounts.
And flush the transmission fluid just to change it. ;) Don't ever go more than 3 years between ATF servicing.

The TPS *could* cause it if it's way out of adjustment as it'll treate the engine as not idling. You've got the VTA signal - that's the actual output on throttle angle. Then you have the IDL signal, which is basically an on/off switch.

Check/adjust the kick-down (Throttle valve) cable also if that transmission has one linked to the throttlebody.
