Lexus Repair: Lexus ECU, lexus dealership, door switch

Question
I have a 98 LS400 and all windows not closing or opening. The master door switch is new and working. I brought it to a lexus dealership but I was told that the body multiplex ecu was probably defective and it would cost me more than $1200 to have it repaired. I can get the part remanufactured and change it myself but I am not sure if this part needs to be flashed before it will work.

Hello, It probably is the problem and as far as I am aware you should be able to just install it. I have not replaced one of these so I am not 100% sure. Getting it done at the dealer is insurance. If it did not fix it then you dont have to pay them. They should be able to pull one from another 98 LS and try it first.
