Lexus Repair: 2004 LS430 Nub on dash wont turn, steering wheel lock, jpi

Question
My 2004 LS430 won't start, sometimes. The nub on the dash just won't turn. After about 5 to 10 tries it turns. It does not seem to be related to the steering wheel lock as you do not need to move the steering wheel to get it to turn. The car has been back to Lexus three times and no luck. They have "Indexed the Steering Wheel" and it won't do it when in the shop. It may go a week, no problems, and then may do it twice in one day. It always has started but I am worried that the time will come when it won't. The dealership has been on the phone with Lexus support and they have no idea what the problem is.

Answer
Hello Greg,
Lexus adapting this steering wheel locking feature. So you will have to turn the steering wheel to get it out of the locked position. We have many concern about this problem. A client of our got stranded at the mall for 30 minutes because she didn't know about this. Enjoy the Ls430 sir.
