Lexus Repair: 2002 lexus a/c problem, lexus dealer, lexus es 300

Hi Dusty,
I have a 2002 Lexus ES-300. The air conditioning button has a red light that flashes on occassion. When this occurs the air turns warm and shuts down to low speed. If I turn it off and wait awhile it starts to work again and the light doesn't flash, however it returns to do the same thing again later. I looked to see if the owners manual referenced it, which it does, but states only to take it to a lexus dealer. The car has 105,000 miles on it and otherwise runs good. I haven't noticed any leakage or other issues. Thanks for your help.

This is probably a problem with your a/c relay.  This problem was common enough that a service bulletin was put out.  If you can identify the relay with your owners manual you should be able to buy one from the dealer and fix this problem.  Its under the hood on the drivers side, but there are two that look alike so you'll need to make sure you know which is which.  There is also a diagram on the back of the fuse panel cover.
