Lincoln/Mercury Repair: AC/Heater blower, mercury grand marquis, grand marquis

2002 Mercury Grand Marquis w/64000mi, v-8 engine. Blower works intermittently and there is a rumbling noise coming from under the hood when you change from ac to heat.

Hi Gary,

I have read about everything I have on this and the only thing I can come up with is something has fallen into the blower cage. My GF had this happen in her car and when I took it apart I found a piece of insulation was in the cage. Others I have spoke with have mentioned that it is quite common for things to fall in there from the defroster vents. Pencils and coins to name a couple.
