Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Tranmission not engaging., lincoln town car, trans fluid

88 Lincoln Town Car.  When tranny gets warm, it takes a couple seconds for the trans to engage.  From a dead stop, I will accelerate it barely moves then a clunk and it takes off.  

Am I ready for a rebuild?   Trans fluid is pink and registers full on the dipstick.

Yes indeed. Sorry, but the time has come to have your transmission "refreshed". Seals inside get hard with time and that allows fluid to seep around them and cause the delay and other problems. Only an overhaul will correct this issue and prevent other issues from arising. If your in the Vegas area, I will be glad to help you out here at my shop.
