Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Windshield Wiper control only works on High, windshield wiper, wiper motor

I have a 1999 Mercury GrandMarque and the windshield wipers only work on High and they do not park when turned off. They do not work on the variable or low speeds. It there a switch or motor problem.

Hi Molly,

Two things can cause this problem. The wiper motor itself or the wiper control modual located in the dash behind the ashtray. Wiper motor is part number 6W7Z17508BB for about $132.04 and calls for 1.3 hours to install. The wiper control modual they don't give me so it isn't likely the problem.
