Lincoln/Mercury Repair: 1989 Lincoln Mark VII, lincoln mark vii, 1989 lincoln mark vii

My husband just purchased a 1989 Lincoln Mark VII.
When you turn on the headlights, the tack quits working.  Then sometimes when you start it the brake light comes on and the turn signals won't work.  If you restart it, then the light will go off and the turn signals and brakes will work.  Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

you can try reseting the cmpuiter by takeing off the pos, cable for one min sometimes this will work . if not it is a short and will have to be brought to a shop who can run a wire diagnostiac test on the wireing to see where the short is . good luck to u hun and if you and your husband need more help just let me know and u have a pretty name please rate my serivice pete
