Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Electrical issues, 1997 mercury tracer, rear harness

Hello.  I have a 1997 Mercury Tracer station wagon.  My issue at the moment is with my dashboard and running lights, they don't come on. I have checked the fuse and replaced it but it pops as soon as I turn on the lights.  I was told that this could be due to a short in the rear harness, but I can' find it.  I have a repair manual, chilton i think, but I couldn't find the exact location.  Any thoughts?

i cant send you a copy of the wireing i am not set up for that as yet but where the tail lights is where the rear wireing goes follow the wires and till you see or find a break it will not be easy but can be found juat twkes time the wires also go under rockker of door panel check there some times they get pinchecd please rate my serivice pete
