Lincoln/Mercury Repair: service engine soon light, sensers, gas cap

Question
my service engine lite came on the other day and won't shut off.I checked the oil and other fluids and they are fine.I did put gas in it just before the light came on,I was told that if the gas cap wasnot put on right this could happen.I tried taking it off and putting it back on correctly but still its on.Any ideas?

this will happen with a gas cap keep turing it on till it clicks . if it does not go out then u should get a diagnostiac test to see if one of the sensers need replaceing . good luck to u hun and if you need more help please let me know and please rate my serivice and u have a pretty name pete
