Audio Systems: Honda car stereo problem, honda car, preset buttons

Hi Tom. This morning, my dad was cleaning my car battery (he disconnected the cables) and when I drove the car later, the stereo did not work. When I pressed the power button on, the display said "code 1". I pushed the preset buttons and they just put more numbers in the display. We just installed a new battery; the CD that was in the CD player ejected itself but the system still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

ps...I have a 1999 Honda Civic with a factory stereo/CD player.

Hilary,
The stereo is asking for the security access code, usually a four digit number. Look through all the paper work in the glove box on console to see if you can find the access code. If not you will have two options, 1-contact your local honda dealer for the access code or, 2- contact  radio-code.com
