Mazda Repair: Changing starter on 95 626 2.0L, v6 model, stable point

Question
Hi,

I am about to undertake installing a new starter and wanted to know where is the proper location to use a floor jack and mount jack stands?

I have removed the air cleaner assembly, is there anything else I need to remove, or special tools needed?

Thanks!

Answer
if i remember right if your working on the V6 model it's under the throttle body you'll have to remove all the intake ducking and the throttle body so get yourself a throttle body gasket or gasket making paper and trace one out and cut it using the old one try and copy as best as you can. you don't need to jack up the car at all to do the starter for the V6 model. however if you are going to try and use the lower control arm close to the frame rail or the sill of the rocker panel where it is thickest make sure the rocker panel is solid and not roting out if it is use the frame rail or the lower control arm it'll be the strongest and most stable point.

no special tools needed just some rackets and wrenches

good luck
