Mazda Repair: 96 mazda b2300, mazda b2300, mazda pickup

Question
the odometer and fuel gauge do not work on '96 mazda pickup, are these repairs difficult that I couldn't be able to do it myself? If they are, are these repairs costly?

Answer
start with the simple things check the fuses for the components and make sure there good secound see if there is power going to the gauges use a multimetter not a test light as the voltage may be low if the fues are good and you have power it's prbly the gauge itself there simple to take out just be gentle when doing so there plastic and the wiring behind them is thin and short not much room to be twisting and pulling. if there is no power it's an electrical issue and they can get costly to repair but a simple wiring diagram will show you where the wires go and how it's routed if you can follow a wiring diagram then you can more then likely do the repair yourself.

if you know nothing about cars or electrical don't attempt get a mechanic you may end up costing yourself more money if they have to fix things you may break

hope that helps good luck
