Volvo: 1999 -Volvo S70 Problem, volvo dealer, volvo s70

Question
I had the Volvo 105K mile service performed at the Volvo Dealer where they replaced the timing belt. About two weeks BEFORE that, I had the spark plugs changed, and the car was running great! When I picked the car up after the 105K mile service, it wasn't running right. I don't know how to explain exactly what it is doing, but it seems like the engine is rougher and heavier, almost like when I depress the over drive button. I am also freaking out because last week, I was parallel parking, moving the gears from R to D, and the gear shifter went completely limp.  The dealer told me it was a frayed cable and had to be replaced (a $500.00 job). I think that something was not correctly done when the timing belt was replaced, but don't know enough about the process to figure out what could have gone wrong.  I also know that the dealer failed to replace the anti-freeze in the expansion tank after the job was completed.  I'm wondering what else they forgot to do. Help!!

Answer
Dee,
You need to use a better shop first of all. When you find one that is reputable have them drive the car and maybe check to see if the T/belt is on correctly. I would have to agree that since the car ran fine before the belt was done then they may have made an error.
