I recently had the motor in my 98 mazda 626 blow up, will a ford probe motor fit? is it compatible with the transmission?

yes they are the same motor the only difference is the tranny and drive tran but i believe you can't use a 93-95 motor try and get something of the same year the ford probe and the MX6 use the same motor make sure to change the timing belt and water pump you can buy them together as a kit with new pulleys and a water pump.
