Mazda Repair: Car wont start, mazda 626 1990, fuel pumps

Question
I have a Mazda 626 1990, and yesterday my car would not start, it made the noise like it was about to start but wouldn't fully. My stepdad thinks that there is no electricity getting to the spark plugs, how do we fix this? He bought a coil thing and replaced the one i had but that did not help.

Answer
check to make sure there is at least 12v at the battery load test if you can. next make sure there's power going to the starter if so check to make sure the starter is good if thats ok your next step would be to check the wires and plugs if you think that's the problem.

if it rotates but will not start there's a number of things it can be from a bad battery to broken or stripped timing belt check the normal things the battery, the wires, the rotor on the distributor if it has one and that sort of stuff. don't just go replacing parts and do the trial thing it can get exspensive fast. even check the fuses i've replaced fuel pumps in the past when i was learning cars and it turned out it was just a bad fuse for the fuel pump as i say start simple.
