Mazda Repair: sluggish take off, propane torch, mazda mpv

Question
I have a 2001 mazda mpv w/ 62000 miles... the van has a very sluggish take off and is very jerky until it shifts the first time. I have taken it to 2 transmission shops and they tell me the trans is fine the only thing they can find is the o2 sensors in bank one and two are bad. could the o2 sensors be the problem? or what else could?

Answer
o2 sensors are only active when the vecihle is in closed lope during warm-up the vehicle operates in what is called open pre-set peramiteres from the manufator until the vehicle has warmes up it stalls in open loop so i can't see the o2 sensors contributing to the problem. llok for the following
vacuum leak
clogged fuel filter or bad gas
faulty injector components
fouled spark plugs
incorrect ignition system
these are the main causes or poor acceleration

a vacuum leak is easy to notice you'll hear s hiss in the engine to locate the vacuum leak you can use a propane torch with it open unlite pass it around the motor when the engine revs up higher then normal that's the area where it's leaking, also check he owner manual to see when your to change the plugs and filter

a good check also would be the air filter if it's at all clogged your restriting air flow into the engine

at 60000 miles a rule of thumb is to change the fuel filter, plugs, and replace the timing belt

the air filter, plugs every 30000miles more then likely it just needs a good tune-up
