Mazda Repair: After market intake, shock tower brace, stock intake

Question
Hi.  I have a stock '05 1.8L Miata.  If I replace the stock intake with a K&N setup, should I spend the extra money to get a "cool-box" to keep the hot air from engine compartment away from the intake?  Thanks.

Answer
The cooler the air entering the engine the better the atomization, that equals power and efficiency.  The Racing Beat 56502 intake $215 and the 56499 duct $138 best way to go.  If you have the Shock Tower brace you'll need an adapter (56511) to accommodate the intake.
