Mazda Repair: 1994 Mazda MX3 belts, 1994 mazda mx3, mazda mx3

Question
I recently had the belt that runs the alternator and waterpump break. I thought that I did a decent job of replacing myself, but a hundred miles later it broke again. Is it possible that either my waterpump or alternator intermittently can freeze up and cause the belt to schreech and than break. I beleive the tension was fairly close to spec. The local dealer told me that the belt I bought at autozone was cheap and that he could put on a good quality belt thatwould not be affected by stuck pulleys if indeed that is the case. Thanks for your help in advance.

Answer
it is posible but buying cheat belts doesn't help much either when your car is runing look to see if the plleys are moving freely if not replace the pulleys and buy a good qaulity belt

don't over tight or under tighten

please look at my pass answers to see the proper measurement for belt deflection
