Mazda Repair: 2003 MPV clanking, control arm bushings, lower control arm bushings

Question
Hello and thank you for your help. I have a 49K mile 2003 MPV that makes a clanking-type sound in the area of the front suspension. I have heard this on other MPVs, normally when turning the wheels left or right,  and am very much want to know what the fix is.

Thanks, again, for your insight.

Answer
Well, I have never heard of this reoccurring problem with the MPV. I would attribute it to a bad strut bearing or a failing CV joint. However, this is only speculatory and it should really make a trip to a shop for a complete work over. It could also be lower control arm bushings but I have never heard of them going out so fast on an MPV.

Take it in and have it looked over and test driven. Unfortunately I cannot say much more on this having not heard the sound myself nor driven the vehicle to determine if it incurs any feedback in the steering.

Regards,

John
