Mazda Repair: Rough and slow idling, mass air flow sensor, air flow sensor

Question
I have a 1989 323 1.6L Mazda and would like to know if it has an EGR valve and/or a MAP sensor? I've read on some websites that it may be the cause or a part of the cause of the cars performance having a slow and rough idle. Is there a breather filter? If any of these exist, where would the exact location of each be also, do you need an expert to replace the 02 sensor or can anyone do it.  I really need your help. Hope to hear from you soon.      THANK YOU

Answer
Hi Honey thanks for asking,
I believe there is an egr valve on this vehicle, it should be located on the throttle body, there will be a steel tube coming from the exaust manifold to the egr valve. another think=g that can cause a rough idle is the mass air flow sensor if this engine is equiped with one. the O2 sensors can sometimes be a pain to change depending on the condition of the exhuast, sometimes it may even look ok to pull out but it still will be seized. you usualy need a torch to remove the O2 sensor, but you can defintly try removing it yourself firdt, if it does come just make sure you put some antiseize compound on the treads before intalling the new one.
good luck
