Mazda Repair: 91 Mazda 626 AC blower issue, blower motor resistor, mazda 626

Question
This car has a 4 speed fan for the heater\AC blower.   Currently, if the fan speed is set to 1,3, or 4 (1 being the slowest speed, 4 being the fastest) the fan seems to work.  On the 2 setting the fan does not work.  In addition, when the fan is set to 1 or 2 the AC compressor is enabled as shown by the orange indicator on the "AC" button.  When the fan speed switch is moved to 3 or 4 the orange AC indicator goes out and the compressor is not enabled (fan blows warm air) even when the AC button is set to the on position.  I suspect the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced.  Any thoughts?

Answer
Hi Tomp thanks for asking,
Befoer you go any farther i need you to replace the blower motor resistor, that is usualy the first thing to go, and they are inexpensive, replace that and see if it solves your other problems, if not get back to me.
