Mazda Repair: 1991 626 fan switch, luck chris, fan switch

Question
Hello Chris,
I have a 1991 626 LX with 205K miles. It has been a great car, but has 2 issues that I would likeot fix. The first is the the fan is inoperative. I replaced the switch on the water outlet, but it did not fix the problem. I then changed fan motor but still nothing. I have heard that there may be a second electrical switch that I may need to replace, but I do not know where it is. All the fuses and relays look OK too. When it gets hot, I just turn on the A/C, which operates the other fan to keep it within range. Not the best way to keep it cool I know, but for now, its all I have.

The second issue is the A/C. Last year it worked, but was obviously low on freon. This year it does not engage. Does this car have a low freon switch that would prevent the compressor from engaging if low? I plan to convert it to R-134, but was wondering if there is anything else I must do. Thanks a lot.

Answer
Hi Kennith thanks for asking,
The first thing you are going to have to check now is the fan control relay or module, i dont really remeber where it is located, but you will have to check or replace that, they commonly burn out, then see if it workss, if it doesnt then get back to me.
Yes there is a switch that must detect pressure in the system before it alows the AC pump to kick in , this prevents the pump from running dry, before retro fitting it to a r134a system you are going to firtst have to find and repair the leak,
good luck
