Mazda Repair: Sticking accelerator pedal, 2000 mazda mpv, mazda mpv

Question
I have a 2000 Mazda MPV with 62,000 miles on the clock. It is is good condition, regular oil, air filter changes etc. Recently the gas pedal has started sticking from a cold start. when I try to accelerate from my driveway it takes several semi-hard presses to get the pedal to function. It is not so bad if the car has been running and is warmed up but it does seem to be getting worse. Could this have something to do with the throttle cable or carbon build up? I am not technically savy when it comes to cars so and help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Darren thanks for asking.
These MPVs did have a problem with some of the throttle cables sticking a little bit. But a couple of times I have seen a little bit of corrsion at the throttle its self. This will have to be checked out so u dont break the cable or anything else. This is a simple problem and shouldnt be to expensive.
Good Luck
