Mazda Repair: driveshaft center support, drive shaft, luck chris

Question
I have a 1990 B2200 and need to replace the center support bearing. Is the center support bearing pressed onto the drive shaft?

Answer
Hi Micheal Thanks for asking.
The answer to your qestion is yes the support bearing is pressed onto the drive shaft. Most of the time they are impossible to remove. And if you find away to remove it and install another the drive shaft is going to have to be balanced for vibration. SO.. Mazda recomends to install a whole new driveshat, which can be pricy. Since this vehicle is a little older i wouldnt feel guilty about putting on a used driveshaft with hanger bearing. It will save you alot of money and ALOT of time. You should be able to find one in a local scrap yard for cheaper then the hanger bearing its self new! The whole drive shaft isnt even that hard to replace.
Good luck
