Mazda Repair: 96 MAZDA B2300, upper radiator hose, fuel injection system

Question
96 MAZDA B2300 GAS MILEAGE

"I have a 1996 Mazda B2300, 2.3Liter, 5spd, a/c. I recently purchased the vehicle with approximately 81,000 miles on it. The truck is getting 20 miles to the gallon. I have new wires & plugs (autolite 674 platinum's), the air filter is new and 2-new O2 sensors. My tires are nearly new, balanced and aligned. I am receiving etc code (check engine) for the coil pack, this is recent within the last two days.
Do you have any suggestions on what might be wrong, what I can do to increase my gas mileage?

You responded with an answer to this that one of the causes could be Temperature Sensors.  What are the specific temperature sensors and where are they located?

Would having the fuel injection cleaning service proformed help?  Or would you recommend a fuel injection cleaning additive?

I disconnected the negative battery terminal and adjusted all of the wires to the 2-coil packs, the check engine light went away.

Any other suggestions that you could provide would be Greatly Appreciated.

Answer
Hi and thanks for writing,
there is only one temperature sensor that is associated with the fuel injection system. Only this temperature sensor could possibly be the problem. Depending on the month your vehicle was made (since mazda made iimprovements on this vehicle during 1996) the temperature sensor will either be located in the engine block or  on the thermostat housing which is connected to the engine at the end of the upper radiator hose.
hope this helps
