Mercedes Benz repair: 300e Sunroof (tilt/open), pat buckley, car switch

Question
Sunroof completely inoperative.  Purchased 120,000 car, with roof in this condition. Otherwise, nice car. Switch operates Can hear mtr running and stop as if linkage or cable is broker.  Assume rails, linkage, brackets, etc problem but unable to open to any degree to facilitate removal/inspection/repair.  Rear of roof will raise when pushed from inside and can operate switch to closed position and push roof down from outside and roof seats and does not leak.  How can I remove headliner, etc to gain access.   Will not go back at all to permit removal/inspection.  Any suggestions or instruction very much appreciated.   Thanks,  "Pat" Buckley

Answer
Major problem.  Motor assembly is in trunk. there is a nut on the assembly for manual movement. But I do not thing that is going to help. You will need to bring down the headliner. and check . have to remove the sunvisors /grab handles molding etc.
Best of luck and be gentle as everything on this car is probably brittle
